Return Visit: Prayer—1Jo 5:14

Return Visit Video: (5 min.) Discussion. Play the video Return Visit: Prayer—1Jo 5:14Stop the video at each pause, and ask the questions that appear in the video.

Depending on which part of the text we want to highlight, we could ask one question or another, as we know in this text he is talking about what we can ask Jehovah for anything as long as it is according to his will and he listens to us, then we could highlight what things we can ask of Jehovah, then wait for the response of the person or also highlight the final part and say according to this text does God hear the prayers?

If the person has a few more minutes, what publication in the teaching kit could they use to start a Bible course?
For example, we could use the good news brochure in lesson 12 titled How We Can Draw Close to God and start with the first paragraph that also has a video that answers the question if God hears all prayers.

We could also use the book that chapter 17 teaches, under the prayer a gift from God.

If the person does not read well or does not know the language well, could we use the pamphlet God listens to part 11 entitled Jehovah listens to us?
And also the magazines that are part of our Teaching Kit in particular the first of 2021 The Watchtower of the public that the title is useful to pray.

Initial Call Video: (5 min.) Discussion. Play the video Initial Call: Prayer—Ps 65:2Stop the video at each pause, and ask the questions that appear in the video.

How would you respond if the person said that no one listens to our prayers?

It could be asked if he has always thought like this, that gives the person the opportunity to expose if not because he does not believe that.

What publication of the teaching kit did you offer the person?

Well, I would use the good news brochure that in lesson 12 the question of how we can approach God is solved, it contains answers to many questions about prayer that a householder may have.

Return Visit Video: (4 min.) Discussion. Play the video. Then ask the audience: How did Tony make effective use of questions? How did he make the scripture application clear?

How did Tony make effective use of questions?

Well, to reason with the householder, this time he asked him a series of questions, after reading the text he asked him what consequences materialism brings, then if that has happened to someone you know, do you think that working so many hours makes us happy Then asking that question would make the householder come to a logical conclusion that was the main idea of the text.

How did he make the scripture application clear?

Lesson 6 talking about highlighting key words, says asking a question that helps your listeners to identify those words when identifying the Bible verse, then he asked what consequences materialism brings and he was presenting the Bible to him in a way that the householder could see the direct consequences in the Bible.

The brochure also says a simple explanation, so we see that this way the person will understand the point more clearly and we will not get complicated with the explanation of the text.

If the brochure also encourages repeating the key words and it was what the brother did, he related happiness with materialism and having a first-hand experience the householder could understand that they are two opposite poles and the danger of the matter.

Initial Call Video: (4 min.) Discussion. Play the video. Then ask the audience: How did Tony overcome a common objection? How might you reason with someone on Psalm 1:1, 2?

How did Tony overcome a common objection?

Surely the former while the householder he raised serious objections to a quick prayer and then because instead of saying good because as has religion I leave, he said that nothing happens that there are many people who also have their religion .

He transformed what could have been a negative comment impeding the conversation into something positive, said I understand and we like to talk to religious people and then went on to ask a question to pique the interest of the householder.

How might you reason with someone on Psalm 1:1, 2?

Well, we could reason that the companies we have influence us and that the Bible conveys the thoughts and advice of the creator, so this is the best company we can have.

The text also mentions that to be happy we have to read Jehovah\’s word, we could mention that since Jehovah is our creator he was the one who created us, he is the best who knows more than anyone what makes us happy, then in His word the Bible has given us very good advice to be able to be happy that is why it is important as the Psalm says that we read it and put it into practice.
