MEMORIAL

The Lord’s Evening Meal was instituted by Jesus on the occasion of the Jewish Passover, and this occurred after sunset. So the Memorial celebration should occur after sundown. If the talk begins before sunset, the passing of the emblems should not occur until after sunset. It would be good for the local congregations to determine ahead of time when local sunset will be on the date of the Memorial observance that year.w93 2/1 31; w85 2/15 31; w77 6/15 383-4; w76 2/1 73-4; Matthew 26:17-30; Luke 22:7-23, 28-30; and 1 Corinthians 11:20-31; w03 3/15 31; w93 2/1 31; w85 2/15 31; w76 2/1 73-4; w76 2/1 76; w90 2/15 13-15; rs 269; w77 6/15 383-4; km 12/76 2-3; and w76 2/1 72-3.
