Illustration: The King and His Four Wives

Once upon a time, there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adored her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King’s 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I’ll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No way!”, replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, “I loved you all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No!”, replied the 3rd wife. “Life is too good! When you die, I’m going to remarry!”

His heart sank and turned cold. He then asked the 2nd wife, “I have always turned to you for help and you have always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!”, replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.

Her answer struck him like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll go with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.” The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, “I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!”

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our relationship with Jehovah. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power & pleasures of the world. However, it is the only thing that will follow us where ever we go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for even when we die, it is the only thing that will certainly continue to exist – in the living record of Jehovah’s memory.

Illustration: Journey as Christians

Try to imagine that all of us in Jehovah’s organization are sticking to it and doing what we are supposed to be doing, and giving our best to Jehovah. It’s like we are all riding along in a train together to the new system.

Riding along in a train together to the new system

As we ride along, the journey becomes very tiring for some and so every so often some of them nod-off to sleep. When this happens, the other on the train pick them up and carry them back to the sleeper cars and leave them there to rest until we reach our destination. It is with the ones we have lost in death.
They are right there in Jehovah’s memory, so when we reach the station all we will do is walk back to the sleeper cars and tell them, “Here we are! You can get up now!”

Illustration: What To Do When Stumbled?

Supposed you were walking outside and then someone, perhaps your brother, came up and put something in your way and you trip over it and fall, you stumbled. Would you just lay there and say “I’m stumbled!”?

When someone comes along to help you up would you say, “Leave me alone, I’m stumbled!”? Would you just lay there when it rains or an alligator comes along to eat you…because you’re stumbled? Of course not!

For Those Loving Jehovah, “There Is No Stumbling Block”

Likewise, if you stumble spiritually, accept the help, get up and move on. Don’t let the alligator eat you!

Illustration: Why Preaching is Important

What would you do if you were walking down the street and, as you came to the corner, a man was there holding $100 bills. As you walked up to cross the street he handed you one. When you asked him what it was for he just said it was for you. When you asked why, he just smiled and said because he wanted to. Then, with a big smile on his face he told you he had a whole box full of $100 bills and would give one to anyone who wanted one. But they had to come while he was there because he wasn’t staying all day. And when he left he would take the box with him.

Would you call your family and tell them they needed to get to this corner right away so they could get a $100 bill before the man left? Would you call you friends and tell them they needed to get to this corner right away so they could get a $100 bill before the man left? Would you walk down the street and tell strangers that they should get to the corner and get a $100 bill before the man left?

If you would, consider this: What Jehovah has given us is worth far more than $100. He will give it to anyone who really wants it. His offer does have an unknown time limit so time and action is important. Are we as eager to tell others of Jehovah’s free gift as we would be of that $100?

Illustration: Resisting the Spirit of the World

There was a ruler who was looking for a new carriage driver. He had his people search the land and they brought the three most qualified drivers before him. He had them brought to a high cliff with a sharp drop-off. He then proceed to ask them how close to the edge they could get with a carriage drawn by two of the best horses in the kingdom.

The first one said, “I can come within 10 inches of the edge while driving the carriage at high speed.”

The second one boasted, “I can come within 5 inches of the edge with the horses at a full gallop and the carriage fully loaded!”

The third one exclaimed, “Are you kidding? I am not going anywhere near the edge of that cliff – especially with horses, a carriage and you in the carriage!”

Guess who got the job?

The idea being, we do not want to see how “close” we can come to the world, we want to avoid it as far as we can.

JW Theocratic Software and Apps for Microsoft Windows, Google Android and Apple iOS [Updated]

JW Theocratic Software and Apps for Microsoft Windows, Google Android and Apple iOS [Updated]

The goal of this page is simple. It is to compile all those useful Theocratic software and apps that we Jehovah’s Witnesses use. We will list them, describe them (if we can), and provide you details on where you can download and install them. At times, we may provide how-tos and tutorials too.

These JW software and apps are there to organize, simplify and automate some of our Theocratic tasks. Most of these apps are not produced, provided nor endorsed by the branch. But, almost all of them are created by our brothers around the world with one goal in mind, again, to organize, simplify and automate our tasks.

Microsoft Windows, Google Android, Linux, Apple MacOS and Apple iOS are some of the most popular operating systems (OS) that are used today. There are JW apps that works on only one OS, but there are some of which you can install on two or more platforms.

Maths in the Desert – This is Very True!

One of the biggest maths-miracles is centered around Moses and the Israelites.

In the desert the Israelites had to get food and how do you feed 3.5 million people?

According to the quartermaster General of the American army, Moses needed 1500 ton of food daily.

A 6km long freight train would be needed to transport the food.

The food had to be cooked with firewood and you mustremember: they were in the desert.

4000 ton of wood would be needed per day and again a few freight trains, each approximately 2km long, to transport the wood.

Something to think about: they moved through the desert for 40 years.

What about water?

Just enough to drink and wash-up a little, they would need 50 million litre each day and a freight train with tankers, approximately 19km long, would be needed to bring the water.

There were only a few waterholes in the desert.

How did they get enough water?

Another thing!
They had to pass through the Red Sea in one night!

If they had a footpath where they walked two-two at a time, the line would be 1280km long and it would take them 35 days and nights to pass through.

So, there must have been a path through the Red Sea of about 5km wide for 5000 people to be able to walk beside each other in go.

Another problem: they had to camp each night.

A camping sight of 1200 square meter was needed, that is 40km wide and 48km long.

Do you think Moses had it all worked out to the finest detail before the big move?

No, he was only an ordinary man with a unwavering faith in GOD!

GOD would take care of everything!

Come, take courage, you with all your problems…

Guess what? … We serve the same GOD!!!

HE has never changed, and if HE could resolve all Moses problems, HE will also resolve your problems!

All we need is an unwavering faith in GOD!!!
