As a Congregation, Help Bible Students to Progress to Baptism

“Each respective member . . . contributes to the growth of the body.”—EPH. 4:16.

SONG 85 Welcome One Another

PREVIEW*

1-2. Who can help a Bible student to progress to baptism?

All members of the congregation can support this new student, exemplified in paragraph 1 the example of Amy who, by interacting with the brethren, helped him be baptized and progress in the congregation.

Ephesians 4:16 compares it to a body in part B says that each member performs his or her role well and this contributes to the body growing as we build on love so that all of us can contribute to the growth of the congregation.

If what proverbs 15 22 says also shows how when there are many counselors around a person it can help this person in the student’s case be baptized.

3. What do you learn from the comments made by Ana, Dorin, and Leilani?

I really like what the special precursor named Ana said says that a student has many needs and is unlikely that a teacher will be able to meet all of them.

As is the case with Dorin who explains that often other publishers say something that goes deep to the student something that I had never thought of, then the one that we accompany someone and have nice words well thought out may reach the heart and that will change the student and advance to baptism.

And from what Leilani says we can learn that when someone accompanies us to give a biblical course they can perceive the love of the brothers of the congregation the affection that we have for each other and this is based on John 13:35 that can be an incentive for the student.

4. What will we discuss in this article?

If in this article we will see 3 things, we will see what we can do when someone invites us to a Bible course also to do when a student attends the hall of the kingdom and also that elders can do to help students get to baptism.

WHEN YOU SIT IN ON A BIBLE STUDY

5. What role do you play when you are invited to sit in on a Bible study?

If our role as companions is to support you, in Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10 it indicates there what better are two than one because in verse 10 it says that if one falls the other can help his companion to get up, then we want to be a support without forgetting that the main responsible for the biblical course is the teacher.

6. When you are going to sit in on a Bible study, how can you apply the principle found at Proverbs 20:18?

We need to ask the teacher to tell us a little about the student the text mentioned that when there is good communication the plans are going well, if we communicate with the teacher and he talks about the student the study will work out.

Illustration

The image that is there in the first box is seen to the companion preparing well has the Bible has the publication and is researching perhaps on the laptop, which excellent advice when we meditate may be that sometimes we do not do this but as basic as this can contribute to us being a good companion as we saw in Ecclesiastes.

Yes and a missionary idea called Joy comments that that also helps him to be interested in the person and to know what to say during class and is that also when they already tell us the student will no longer be only a stranger to us he will also be a person whom we already know in that we want to help him.

7. Why do you as a companion need to prepare for the study?

We can highlight two important things the first that we will be able to contribute something useful to the study and the second that we will set a good example for the student because they immediately perceive that we are also well prepared.

Ezra 7:10 emphasizes the idea of what Ezra was doing to prepare the heart, we will hardly go to that biblical course with a well-prepared heart if we do not even know what it is going to be about that it will be talked about so it is essential to know what it will be about and prepare them well so what we contribute will be very very valuable.

Another point I liked about Ezra 7:10 is that Ezra was going to be talking to people who already knew the law but still prepared to explain the law, this teaches me that even though I know the material well it is important to review the main points because the student is also a person who goes advanced in his lesson and can also be taught many things if we prepare the heart well.

Illustration

In the image for these paragraphs we can see exactly that, there is a brother who is doing what Ezra 7:10 says is preparing in advance, is preparing the heart and is showing real interest and providing something useful surely in the study.

Yes According to the Enlightenment we also see that the brother is very enthusiastic about doing so too because he knows that he is a student of the Lord and I want to do well wants to accompany him and wants to make that occasion an occasion as for jehovah.

8. How could you make sure that your prayer at a Bible study is meaningful?

It is important that we think in advance that we will say in this prayer for example the mystery 2005 march gave some suggestions or ideas for progressive study, said that it should be specific short prayers to ask for the divine blessing for study, to give thanks for the truths learned, to praise the Lord as the source of instruction, and also to bless his efforts as a student.

And we want prayer to be specific because it will touch the student’s heart, sometimes saying the name is going to have a profound effect because it is known to be for him and just as prayer was prepared before the Lord as incense can help the answer to that prayer in which we ask for that person to truly touch his heart.

9. According to James 1:19, what can you do to be a helpful companion at a Bible study?

If we want to be good companions, we should not be distracted because this way we can listen to the teacher and also the student and when necessary we can contribute something that benefits.

And in this paragraph we find the balance because before we talked about preparing the heart then we pray we prepare well but the danger is sometimes we find so many interesting things that we then want to share them also with the student, so as the paragraph warns us we should not even talk too much interrupt the teacher’s explanation or deviate from the subject, we should think of comments examples or questions that help highlight the key point , must be something that doesn’t distract.

And speaking of this point, it may fill in the student’s information, his mind is not of much benefit, but if congratulating him show real interest, this will motivate him to progress and become baptized.

10. How might your experience help a Bible student?

If it could help you strengthen your faith and your relationship in jehovah, it is interesting that the paragraph quotes Psalm 78:4 and 7 where we speak of the actions of the Lord worthy of praise, then when in discussing our experience we focus attention on jehovah and his sovereignty this will certainly give the student much encouragement.

If it is that when we explain to the person how Jehovah helped us about a particular problem or a close family member then the person can see that he is not the only one who is suffering and that just as jehovah has helped us we are getting ahead because he too can count on the security that Jehovah will help him if he follows the standards he is learning.

WHEN THE BIBLE STUDENT ATTENDS MEETINGS

11-12. Why should we warmly welcome a Bible student who attends meetings?

Because we want students to continue to arrive in the hall of the kingdom that continue to attend meetings, so whenever we see a new student we welcome presentmoles to other brothers and this will help them feel at ease following the principle of Romans 15:7 where he says welcome each other.

If they asked us how we would feel if we were invited to a place where we do not know someone because surely we would feel like Dimitri nervous and more if we were shy, then we can take the initiative to go say hello to the student with a smile and a clear affectionate greeting when possible and that will make him feel more comfortable and less nervous.

It is very likely that the student does not remember much of the information of the first meetings that almost all of us have forgotten, but if we remember how we were treated that kind gesture that strong handshake a smile and that is what we want the person to understand we do not want the person to go alone to a meeting we want to keep going and as we will treat them fondly that will be a magnet that goes to keep attracting.

The image shows the effect the student looks happy radiant but also if we look in the image this receives as it implies welcoming, two of the photographs are outside the hall of the kingdom, how beautiful from before among the student can make himself feel loved and welcome so how beautiful is it when the elders can wait a little while before the meeting starts to receive everyone including the students.

13. What effect can your conduct have on a Bible student?

It can have a very positive effect our behavior may be that the student watching us giving speeches in front of the congregation can see if what we teach really put it into practice in the case of those who have children how children behave after the meeting when the cameras are turned on the microphones if they are well-behaved children are little things that will help the student and will be convinced that it is really in truth.

And Vitali’s experience proves it she says she watched as all the brothers lived thought and behaved according to biblical principles, so as she saw everyone’s behavior in general she said this is true religion.

Then we can realize how true the words of Matthew 5:16 are, where he mentions that when you see the good works, they give glory to the father in heaven, so by a good example we can convince our students that Jehovah’s Witnesses are the true religion.

14. How might your example help someone to keep progressing?

If there was a first letter to Corinthians 11:1 Paul said that we imitated him just as he imitated Christ, then if we strive to imitate Christ surely those who attend meetings will see how it benefits them to apply the principles and the Bible and then can motivate them to continue strengthening their relationship with the Lord.

And speaking of progress how to help him or her comment in meetings, even the children in our congregations help with their example the student progress in that regard, who is not moved by a short but very sincere response from a little boy or the older little brothers without speaking can teach by his example when the student sees that meeting after meeting there is the little brother perhaps ill but there is his example still without words can also help him progress.

15. How does Proverbs 27:17 help us to see why we should make friends with a Bible student as he continues attending meetings?

Here we see in proverbs 27:17 where it says that iron is sharpened with iron, iron leaves are not sharpened by hitting each other but by sharpening the very concept it indicates, then it is important that we have dialogues with the student positive discrete animators and also perceive that it is uneasy, commend him because we remember that he will be left alone and we will be the only ones who will encourage him to put biblical principles into practice.

Yes according to Hanae’s experience she says that she enjoyed being with her new friends and is that you have to remember that they are at a time when many people that they considered their friends before are leaving them, then they are leaving an empty place that we can occupy.

16. What else can you do to help a Bible student to feel at home in the congregation?

Hebrews 13:2 encourages us to be hospitable as Brother Denis tells us, he says that when he studied the Bible the brothers invited them to hang out with them, and he also encouraged them that the brethren would tell them how the Lord had helped them, that helped them be convinced to want to serve the Lord, and this shows them because he says that they now serve in Moldova.

HOW CAN ELDERS HELP?

17. How can elders help Bible students?

Yes as indicated in the paragraph are very simple things but that can have a very profound effect on the person to spend a little time learning their name or even accompanying the teacher to give him the study.

And the effect that the latter mentioned may have on students illustrates very well in the comment that a precursor of Nigeria makes, as she mentions that many students are stunned when they learn that the person who accompanied the bible course was an elder of the congregation students contrasts what the old man does with the religious leaders of his previous religious confession , so that can have a very positive impact.

Illustration

If you summarize this lesson that we are learning very well you see that the student at the weekday meeting is making his comment is sure to be called by name and in the end not only thanked him for the comment now are chatting and his face shows that he feels that there is someone who is close to him , you are already surprising the old man has this as a practical love interest that helps to progress.

18. How can elders fulfill the responsibility entrusted to them as recorded at Acts 20:28?

Here then we can see that now the paragraph focuses on the elders cheering and training teachers it is very common to sometimes see brothers or sisters who might be very shy and might feel uncomfortable leading a Bible course in front of an old man, but as elders in the congregation if we perceive that because we have to take the initiative we have to take the first step we have to take the course so we teach with our example.

Training is essential within the congregation from the platform to below, being accompanying students is the basis of teaching in college I will not go Jehovah so it is important to be aware because if they are well trained they felt able to give Bible studies and in turn when you train one is a chain that we all learn from all.

And one thing that also helps a lot is to encourage the brothers to the master publishers this helps them not to give up, a precursor named Jackie also says her words are like a glass of fresh water on a hot day, so the encouragement that we import to the publishers will help them a lot also not to be discouraged.

This paragraph then shows us that the elders must have initiative to see how our group’s publishers are doing to start how their activity is going if we can offer to accompany them or simply talk about how they are doing what suggestions we can give them if they can maybe help them share that with their students as well and so we all benefit.

19. What joy can all of us have?

We can have the joy of collaborating for a student’s spiritual growth may be when we are invited to give some study because having well-chosen words to reach the heart, even if he gathers in the congregation because he also welcomes our example and if we are old to devote time to know them listening to them and encouraging them.

If it is good to understand this because we see that we do not need to have a biblical course, everyone in the congregation without exception can help a person come near the Lord.

HOW CAN YOU HELP BIBLE STUDENTS TO PROGRESS TO BAPTISM . . .

When you are invited to sit in on a Bible study?

If we saw several ways one is to prepare well for it we can ask the teacher what the circumstances of the student who is going to be discussed and what specific goals are to be achieved, another is to support the teacher by paying attention to what he and the student says to say something useful in the study and the last is to share an experience with the students.

We have been seeing in this section the importance of preparation good preparation must prepare the heart since the one who will accompany the biblical course also has to be well prepared, then that will allow him to participate appropriately in this biblical course will be able to bring valuable things and the two that are there have to be well prepared.

We even saw the importance and even of preparing prayers to ponder the words we will say as we pray, Psalm 141:2 was mentioned that we offer our prayers as ready incense, and we can do the same to make our prayers more meaningful.

When they begin attending meetings?

Romans 15:7 says that we are welcomed with pleasure, as seen in the photograph we must present ourselves with affection to introduce them to other brothers and sisters also of the congregation to hear them take an interest in him but without overwhelming them.

Another thing was to make friends, right now with the pandemic it may be difficult to invite them to our house or it is not possible simply, but we can be his friends, as we interest in them a call a little message a cart try to meet them is no longer only that the teacher is a friend of the student he must become friends with all of us in the congregation.

And Matthew 5:16 talks about letting our light shine one of the best ways to do that in meetings is by commenting regularly especially on searching for hidden pearls we can let know how biblical principles help us and that can motivate the student to see the benefits of applying biblical principles.

We also saw that when our conduct reflects that we are governed by biblical principles then the student becomes more convinced that he found the truth and this encourages him to continue to strengthen his friendship.

If you serve as an elder?

One way is to make time for students so if it is up to us to accompany some publisher we must also take an interest in the student in learning the name of this new student he will also help train the other brothers to the publishers who have bible courses congratulating them this will make the students progress quickly.

If another practical way is in the congregation when they attend meetings themselves it makes us all nervous to comment then when we see that a student makes the effort to comment to know him and perhaps call him by name those details that are valued by them and also as we see in the photograph we spend time after the meeting or before to talk and that he feels comfortable.

And also training and encouraging teachers helps students because Jackie mentioned in paragraph 18 mentions that when they encouraged her that made her feel happier giving bible courses and whether the teacher is happy she will pass on the same thing to her student and be able to progress.

In the Enlightenment we could see that the elder gave a comment to the student but we could see that after the meeting or once the meeting was over we could see that it was usual for him always did so then the interest we show in the students can go deep in them.

Understanding Headship in the Congregation

1. What is one reason why Jehovah’s family is united?

Because we all strive to respect the principle of authority that Jehovah has established and how much better we understand this principle, the more united we are.

Essentially the principle of authority is a Jehovah-created institution that consists of two fundamental elements, the authority it grants and responsibility for how it is exercised.

2. What questions will we answer in this article?

We answer interesting questions such as, “What is the role of sisters, is it true that all brothers are heads of all sisters, do elders have the same kind of authority over brothers and sisters as the one with a head of family over their wife and children?”

HOW SHOULD WE VIEW SISTERS?

3. How can we deepen our appreciation for the work that our sisters accomplish?

To think like those of the Lord as Jesus sees us and how Paul saw him.

And when we ponder all the things sisters do for preaching for taking care of their family even for working well that makes us deserve our commendation, we appreciate them for that, but what we’ll discuss below will help us appreciate them even more.

4. How does the Bible indicate that Jehovah values women as well as men?

It is well noted that the Lord sees them the same for example in the book of deeds it is shown that the Lord gave holy spirit to both men and women, there he speaks of his daughters and their slaves and that they were able to speak in tongues and were also used to preach, so this is one of the ways the Lord shows the equality he has for both of them.

Yes and another important point is that the Lord really gave hope of heavenly life to both men and women, so this denotes that He holds them in high esteem as well as inherit eternal life together with their husbands.

And when the Apostle Paul spoke about a couple Priscrilla and Aquila always said Priscrilla first and Aquila that they helped Apollos a lot because they did not have a deep understanding of the truth in a way that highlighted Priscrilla a woman.

And in the case of anointed Christians a particular detail that we find in Galatians is that all of them jehovah gave the opportunity to both men and women but all of them recognize him as de facto children in verse 28 he says that there is neither man nor woman are already Anointed Christians there is no distinction because they are men or women.

If in the command of Matthew 28:19 and 20 he lets us see that this mandate was for all men and women so that we could preach and teach the good news.

5. What does Luke 10:38, 39, 42 reveal about Jesus’ attitude toward women?

Totally different from what the Pharisees considered the sharing of spiritual parts educated them spiritually and from that he just spoke the account we have just read in Luke that Mary sat at his feet and according to historians that was only a privilege that belonged to men, however Jesus did not deny them this important part.

And the Bible mentions by name women like Mary Magdalene Joan Susana and many others who accompanied Jesus to preach, even in the account of John 20:16-18 shows that he commanded them to show him once he was resurrected and asked them to inform the apostles, so this was evidence that Jesus valued women very much.

The reference that Jesus had with Mary and Martha here tells us about the relationship that they were single did not set them aside not the demigro but rather it was seen that among them there was confidence because Martha did not hesitate to tell her her disgust at what they were doing or when Lazarus died they resorted to Jesus asking for her help and Jesus on several occasions visited them indicating that there was a friendship between them and who valued Jesus to them despite being women and single women.

In this same magazine it is emphasized that Jesus has no qualms about considering deep spiritual matters with her, so that it was not the Pharisees’ vision that women should not learn, so this shows that by their treatment and by their speech Jesus respected them, their conduct was a reflection of the high position that had them is just as jehovah has them.

6. How did the apostle Paul show that he respected women?

One test is found in chapter 16 of Romans where Paul sent greetings to several sisters and mentioned them by name there we can count as about 9 sisters more or less and said qualities that represented her you can see that he valued them very much.

If another example of how Paul saw women was the honor he gave to one of the Christians of that time, in the letter to the Romans in chapter 16 verse 1 he tells them I present to our sister Febe to receive her with pleasure and help her in whatever she needs and speaking about this text the acumen mentions that possibly this was because it was because it was she to whom Paul entrusted her to carry this letter to the Romans because by that time Paul could not make that journey there.

And because Timothy’s father or father was not a Christian, the Apostle Paul gave deserved credit to his mother Eunice and grandmother Loida for having created him in divine favor in Christian teaching.

We know that Paul did not name these Christians by a formality since in Romans 16:12 he uses expressions of affection like our beloved Persida and thus on other occasions also showing that it was a genuine feeling not only by protocol.

And he also counseled Timothy to treat older sisters as mothers and young women as sisters not only with respect but with dignity that each deserves.

7. What questions will we now consider?

We have answered the first question we will see with this article. The Bible teaches that sisters are not inferior to brothers and sisters. Now, the other questions we will see arise: “Why does the Lord command the sisters to cover their heads on certain occasions? and “are the brothers the heads of all sisters by being appointed elders or ministerial servants?”

Because what we have studied so far we have learned that sisters are very valuable in the congregation bring unity to peace to the growth of the congregation, then if that is the case because they have to cover their heads or if men are named elders and ministerial means that then they are heads of all sisters.

Are all the brothers the heads of all the sisters?

8. According to Ephesians 5:23, is every brother the head of every sister? Explain.

If, as the biblical text mentions, the only one who has authority over that sister is her husband from the rest, we don’t have that kind of authority, she respects us, but we don’t have that kind of authority, we have limits on it.

Well we learn that not all brothers are the heads of all sisters in this particular only Jesus is the head of all within the congregation including sisters.

illustration

We see in the illustration as in the case of someone older who does not live with his father, and the father is not the head of that person but in that case would be Christ.

9. Why do sisters at times need to wear a head covering?

Yes, because this allows her a way to show that she really respects the principle of authority and covering her head would do so only and exclusively when she has to do a job that a brother would normally do.

And this is as mentioned in the paragraph because the Lord has stipulated that it is the man who leads in the congregation.

And the paragraph is clear when she says that she does not do so to reduce her by humiliating her to make her feel inferior, rather it is an opportunity she has to demonstrate to the Lord and in the congregation that she respects that principle of authority.

Box

These questions guide us in this regard, number one will pray in public or teach from the Bible in the presence of a baptized brother, even if no baptized male is present he will perform a task that would normally be assigned to a baptized brother and if she is married her husband is present while she prays aloud or teaches others of the Bible.

If one of the notes says that this includes when the baptized male husband is around he says maybe by attending to other matters and you can see and hear what happens, that word is essential to see why perhaps the sister may be somewhat far away but whether the male can see that will allow him to determine much more rightly whether the head should be covered or not.

illustration

We see a sister who is perhaps making a consideration to go out to preach, so what a service meeting is like for the service of the congregation’s field she covers her head in a sign of respect.

THE ROLES OF FAMILY HEADS AND ELDERS

10. Why might an elder be inclined to make rules for the congregation?

And because he might consider himself a father and think that good he has to protect the members of the congregation as if they were going to take care of these sheep of God and really avoid them any danger and it could also be that some brothers or sisters provoke this situation by asking him to make decisions for them.

11. How are the roles of family heads and elders similar?

Well, two of them are that the Lord first wants family members to obey the head of the family just as the brethren must obey the elders, and two that the Lord expects both the heads of households and the elderly to ensure that those in their care have a strong faith feel loved and valued.

Other similarities that both the elderly and the heads of the family are attentive to the needs of both the congregation and the family helping those brothers who require it.

And in the same way the elders and heads of the family have a responsibility not to go beyond the things that are written but rather encourage their family or the brothers of the congregation to strengthen their friendship with the Lord through what is written in the Bible.

illustration

Well there we can see in the photo one of their responsibilities that impart teaching so that both in the congregation are strong and their family, but it is also a way to show that they are loved and valued because training them by strengthening their faith is a sign of love.

If it is also shown in the Enlightenment of what source this brother who is on the platform has the Bible in his hand that emphasizes to us the fact that they do not teach of their own knowledge but of the things that are written in the Bible do not go beyond what is there.

12-13. As indicated at Romans 7:2, how are the roles of family heads and elders different?

Among them and you know that the elders have been given the responsibility to act as judges and expel a person from the congregation who has ignored Jehovah’s standards, while even head of households has been given the authority to dictate the rules for their family members to their home members and that they are met either as it is for example the time to arrive at night and also the authority to discipline their children if they disobey him, as the elders of the congregation cannot do.

Yes, and in the note mentioned below the August 2020 Watchtower talking about the family and the decision which congregation they were going to attend to, it is again mentioned that it is the responsibility of the head of the family but in his loving work as head he would take into account the needs of his family and also the opinion of his wife.

illustration

Following the idea of Romans 7:2 where she mentions that the wife is bound to her husband’s law while she is alive, we understand why the husband head of the family can set standards something that the old man cannot do in the congregation, so under the law of the husband the husband has the authority to establish those standards and make them come true.

RESPECT CHRIST AS HEAD OF THE CONGREGATION

14. (a) In light of what is said at Mark 10:45, why is it fitting that Jehovah has appointed Jesus as head of the congregation?

He offered his life for the congregation, he bought the life of the congregation so that he is best suited to head the congregation and dictate guidelines for serving jehovah within the congregation.

illustration

He is in an elevated position above all but the Lord who has given him that authority, so he is in the ability to dictate standards of conduct for individuals for families and for the whole congregation and to ensure that they are met.

14. (b) What is the role of the Governing Body? (See the box “The Role of the Governing Body.”)

Under the authority of Christ Jesus provide useful instructions to organize Jehovah’s servants from around the world also appoint branch committee members and circuit superintendents are very attentive to their responsibility to give spiritual nourishment and guidance based on the word of God gives it to the appropriate time and does so through letters publications printed guidelines the programs of jw.org casting schools meetings and assemblies.

And they too intervene if there is any tragedy, a natural disaster as a sign of love to provide the necessary relief to ensure that brotherhood is well.

And the members of the ruling body are not the hands of our brethren’ faith, so they recognize rather the role that Jesus Christ plays as the head of the congregation, so they do not dictate laws but rather are guided by the instructions Christ gives to guide the congregation.

And also when there are matters of a personal nature the ruling body makes it very clear, it says in a certain matter it is of personal interest and every Christian must make a decision based on biblical principles.

15-16. What do you learn from the comments made by a sister named Marley and a brother named Benjamin?

I really like what Sister Marley says because she shows that she appreciates the direction the Lord gives through Jesus Christ and also that she has an obedient attitude because she says that she values her role as a wife and sister in the congregation and that she recognizes that she has to strive to see authority in the right way but has a desire to do so.

And from that same sister I learn what we should respect and value the sisters because she says that it is easy for her to follow that principle since the brothers in the congregation respect her and show her that they value what she does then we must all do the same.

And from Benjamin I learn the important work that women have within the organization because they can teach us how to preach study and many other things.

17. Why should we respect the headship principle?

Good first because our main goal must always be to praise our loving heavenly father Jehovah and second because that is how we allow the congregation to enjoy peace and unity.

HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER?

How should we view sisters in the congregation?

We must see them as Jehovah Jesus and Paul see it.

Is every brother the head of every sister? Explain.

They are not, for example, a brother of the congregation who is elderly cannot be the head of a sister from another family, he cannot be, even a father of the family who has an eldest daughter who does not live in his house is no longer the head of that daughter as if he were living in his house.

Moreover, in Ephesians 5:23 he clearly explains that only Christ is the head of all sisters in the congregation.

So it is as two areas in the family is the husband if for some reason a sister has no husband and has a baptized male son this is not his head, in the congregation are the elders but he has limits that authority because above them is Christ, then they must hold on to the way Christ decides to carry his authority.

How are the roles of family heads and elders different?

If the heads of the family have the authority to set the standards in their home in their families and make it fulfilled and respected but in the congregation the elders do not have that authority over that family but in the congregation has a responsibility that the spiritually well-cared brothers are actually well fed but also to keep the organization clean they also have the power to be able to expel someone or not.

If the ruling body is an example of this they are not master of faith however as a body or as a group they submit under the guidance of Jesus Christ in order to be able to guide and spiritual nourishment based on the Bible.
