Write down the vision.—Hab. 2:2.
By inspiring Habakkuk to write down his concerns, Jehovah provided us with an important object lesson: We must not be afraid to tell Him about our concerns or doubts. Indeed, he kindly invites us to pour out our heart to him in prayer. (Ps. 50:15; 62:8) Habakkuk took the initiative to draw close to Jehovah, his trusted Friend and Father. Habakkuk did not just fret over his situation, relying on his own understanding. Instead, he prayed about his feelings and worries, setting a good example for us. Moreover, Jehovah, the Hearer of prayer, invites us to show our trust by prayerfully sharing our concerns with him. (Ps. 65:2) Doing so will help us to experience Jehovah’s response—his warm embrace by means of his kind guidance. (Ps. 73:23, 24) He will help us to know his thoughts no matter what afflicts us. Our heartfelt prayers are one of the deepest expressions of our trust in God. w18.11 13 ¶2; 14 ¶5-6

Let us consider one another so as to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking our meeting together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another.—Heb. 10:24, 25.
What can help you to give encouraging comments at the meetings? Most important is that you prepare for each meeting. When you plan ahead and prepare well, you will feel more confident about commenting. (Prov. 21:5) What is involved in preparing well for the meeting? Begin each study session by asking Jehovah to give you holy spirit. (Luke 11:13;1 John 5:14) Then take a few minutes to look over the lesson. Analyze the title, subheadings, illustrations, and teaching boxes. As you now study each paragraph, read as many of the cited scriptures as you can. Meditate on the information, giving special attention to points you wish to comment on. The better you prepare, the more you will benefit and the easier it may be for you to comment.—2 Cor. 9:6w19.01 9 ¶6; 11-12 ¶13-15

Digging for Spiritual Gems – January 6-12: GENESIS 1-2

Ge 1:1:  What does the Bible say about the age of the earth?

(WT15 6/1 pg 5) Scientists estimate that the earth is about 4 billion years old and that the universe was born some 13 to 14 billion years ago. The Bible sets no date for the creation of the universe. In no place does it affirm that the earth is only a few thousand years old. The very first verse in the Bible reads: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1) That general statement allows scientists to determine the age of the physical world according to sound scientific principles
Ge 1:26:  Was Jesus a co-Creator? (it-2 pg 52)
The Son’s share in the creative works, however, did not make him a co-Creator with his Father. The power for creation came from God through his holy spirit, or active force. (Ge 1:2; Ps 33:6 “By the word of Jehovah the heavens were made, And by the spirit of his mouth everything in them.”) And since Jehovah is the Source of all life, all animate creation, visible and invisible, owes its life to him. (Ps 36:9 “With you is the source of life; By your light we can see light.”) Rather than a co-Creator, then, the Son was the agent or instrumentality through whom Jehovah, the Creator, worked. Jesus himself credited God with the creation, as do all the Scriptures.—Mt 19:4-6 “” 4 In reply he said: “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female…. 6 Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart.”

What spiritual gems from this week’s Bible reading would you like to share regarding Jehovah God, the field ministry, or something else?

Ge 1:1:  The vastness of the universe and the earth gives evidence that Jehovah’s power and energy are inexhaustible. A human craftsman uses his hands and tools to make things, but God sends forth his holy spirit to accomplish his great works, a good reason to put our trust in Jehovah can accomplish his will. (Isa 40:26)

Ge 1:3, 14-16:  One made wonder how could be light since the luminaries were not made until the fourth day? The heavens” that included the luminaries were created before the “first day” even began. So their light did not reach the surface of the earth on the first day, because of the cloud layers.

Ge 1:11-12: With 391,000 plants species in the world show that Jehovah wanted mankind to enjoy life on the earth with all beautiful plants. Also Jehovah made a law that they can only reproduced according to it kind and these plants give life on the earth by them producing oxygen and taking out carbon dioxide from the air.

Ge 1:14-18:  This describes the sun and moon as great luminaries, while many stars are far greater than our sun, and the moon are insignificant in comparison to them. This is not a contradiction because earthly observer from the earth, the sun appears to be a ‘greater light during the day’ and the moon a ‘lesser light that dominates the night.

Ge 1:20-24:  The word “soul” or Hebrew neʹphesh, as it appears three time in these verses of Bible account of creation referring to  fish, bird, or animal. This word neʹphesh is referring to a breather not a immortal soul.

Ge 1:26-27:  Being made in God’s image, humans have the capacity to reflect godly attributes. Surely we should try to cultivate such qualities as love, mercy, kindness, goodness, and patience, reflecting the One who made us.

Ge 1:26-27:  This is good scriptures to keep in mind with those out in service try used Col1:15 show that Jesus is in the image of God and that make him God. Here we see Adam was in his image and that did not make him God so neither should it make Jesus a image of someone else.

Ge 1:29-30: Here we see humans and ‘flying creatures and all moving animals of the ground’ were obliged to live on vegetable matter exclusively. So there was no need of fear between perfect humans and the flying creatures and all moving animals.

Ge 2:2-3:  The word ”rest” does not mean that Jehovah has stopped working altogether as John 5:17 shows “My Father has kept working until now, and I keep working.” His rest, simply refer to the ending his work of physical creation respecting the earth. Jehovah is still working on bringing his purposes to fulfillment his word toward the earth. (Ps 92:4)

Ge 2:7:  Does not teach that human have an immoral soul. The expression “a living person” is translated from the Hebrew word ne’phesh, which literally means “a breathing creature.” It clearly states that “man came to be a living soul, not he has a living soul. Alsoimmoral soul would mean there is no need for the resurrection.

Ge 2:16-17:  For the human family to be genuinely happy they must have a good relationship with God and it must be voluntary. Jehovah did not deprive man of freedom, for they had abundance of delightful food of all kinds to eat without eating the fruit of that one tree. (Ge 2:8-9) The earth belongs to Jehovah; since he created it and has the right to make laws that suit his purpose and that benefit mankind. (Ps 24:1, 10)

Ge 2:19: Show Jehovah gave Adam the ability, not only to speak and understand speech, but also to form new words, thus adding to the language, as he did in naming the animals.
Also the fact that Jehovah instructed Adam in the work to filling the earth showed that God had provided Adam with the necessary vocabulary and knowledge of language to permit him to comprehend his instructions.

Ge 2:20, 23: The expression “This is at last bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh,” does not give any indication that Adam was to be a dictator over an inferior. Also show she is something to be cherished and cared for even as his own body. This is what husbands should be doing today according to Eph. 5:28-29.

Ge 2:22-24: Marriage is Jehovah’s arrangement. The marriage bond is permanent and sacred, with the husband serving as head of the family. Even Jesus gave credited to Jehovah as forming the first marriage at Mt 19:4-6.

The hour is coming when everyone who kills you will think he has offered a sacred service to God.—John 16:2.
Jesus told the apostles of the trials that lay ahead of them. Then, pointing to his own example, he urged them to “take courage!” (John 16:1-4a, 33) Many years later, Jesus’ disciples were still following his self-sacrificing course and displaying courage. At great cost to themselves, they supported one another in their various trials. (Heb. 10:33, 34) Likewise today, we follow Jesus’ example of showing courage. For instance, it takes courage to assist our brothers who are persecuted because of their faith. At times, our brothers may be unjustly imprisoned. When that happens, we must do all that we can for them, including speaking up in their behalf. (Phil. 1:14; Heb. 13:19) Another way we show courage is by continuing to preach “with boldness.” (Acts 14:3) Like Jesus, we are determined to preach the Kingdom message, even though people may oppose and persecute us. w19.01 22-23 ¶8-9

Until I die, I will not renounce my integrity!—Job 27:5.
That is a statement of vital importance. Job refused to give in to Satan’s assault, and we can do the same. Satan makes the same charges about each of us. How are you involved? In effect, he says that you do not really love Jehovah God, that you will stop serving him to save yourself, and that any integrity you have is false! (Job 2:4, 5; Rev. 12:10) How does that make you feel? It is hurtful, is it not? However, think about this: Jehovah trusts you enough to offer you a marvelous opportunity. Jehovah is allowing Satan to test your integrity. Jehovah is confident that you can keep your integrity and help to prove Satan a liar. And He promises to help you do that. (Heb. 13:6) What a privilege to be trusted by the Sovereign of the universe! Do you see why integrity is so important? It enables us to refute Satan’s lies and to uphold our Father’s good name and support his way of ruling. w19.02 5 ¶9-10
