Illustration: The King and His Four Wives

Once upon a time, there was a rich King who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adored her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King’s 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I’ll be all alone.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No way!”, replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, “I loved you all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No!”, replied the 3rd wife. “Life is too good! When you die, I’m going to remarry!”

His heart sank and turned cold. He then asked the 2nd wife, “I have always turned to you for help and you have always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!”, replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only walk with you to your grave.

Her answer struck him like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll go with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.” The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was very skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King said, “I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!”

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:
Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.
Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our relationship with Jehovah. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power & pleasures of the world. However, it is the only thing that will follow us where ever we go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for even when we die, it is the only thing that will certainly continue to exist – in the living record of Jehovah’s memory.

Illustration: Journey as Christians

Try to imagine that all of us in Jehovah’s organization are sticking to it and doing what we are supposed to be doing, and giving our best to Jehovah. It’s like we are all riding along in a train together to the new system.

Riding along in a train together to the new system

As we ride along, the journey becomes very tiring for some and so every so often some of them nod-off to sleep. When this happens, the other on the train pick them up and carry them back to the sleeper cars and leave them there to rest until we reach our destination. It is with the ones we have lost in death.
They are right there in Jehovah’s memory, so when we reach the station all we will do is walk back to the sleeper cars and tell them, “Here we are! You can get up now!”

Illustration: What To Do When Stumbled?

Supposed you were walking outside and then someone, perhaps your brother, came up and put something in your way and you trip over it and fall, you stumbled. Would you just lay there and say “I’m stumbled!”?

When someone comes along to help you up would you say, “Leave me alone, I’m stumbled!”? Would you just lay there when it rains or an alligator comes along to eat you…because you’re stumbled? Of course not!

For Those Loving Jehovah, “There Is No Stumbling Block”

Likewise, if you stumble spiritually, accept the help, get up and move on. Don’t let the alligator eat you!

Illustration: Why Preaching is Important

What would you do if you were walking down the street and, as you came to the corner, a man was there holding $100 bills. As you walked up to cross the street he handed you one. When you asked him what it was for he just said it was for you. When you asked why, he just smiled and said because he wanted to. Then, with a big smile on his face he told you he had a whole box full of $100 bills and would give one to anyone who wanted one. But they had to come while he was there because he wasn’t staying all day. And when he left he would take the box with him.

Would you call your family and tell them they needed to get to this corner right away so they could get a $100 bill before the man left? Would you call you friends and tell them they needed to get to this corner right away so they could get a $100 bill before the man left? Would you walk down the street and tell strangers that they should get to the corner and get a $100 bill before the man left?

If you would, consider this: What Jehovah has given us is worth far more than $100. He will give it to anyone who really wants it. His offer does have an unknown time limit so time and action is important. Are we as eager to tell others of Jehovah’s free gift as we would be of that $100?

Illustration: Resisting the Spirit of the World

There was a ruler who was looking for a new carriage driver. He had his people search the land and they brought the three most qualified drivers before him. He had them brought to a high cliff with a sharp drop-off. He then proceed to ask them how close to the edge they could get with a carriage drawn by two of the best horses in the kingdom.

The first one said, “I can come within 10 inches of the edge while driving the carriage at high speed.”

The second one boasted, “I can come within 5 inches of the edge with the horses at a full gallop and the carriage fully loaded!”

The third one exclaimed, “Are you kidding? I am not going anywhere near the edge of that cliff – especially with horses, a carriage and you in the carriage!”

Guess who got the job?

The idea being, we do not want to see how “close” we can come to the world, we want to avoid it as far as we can.

The Best Life Ever Lyrics JW Broadcasting – October 2014

This world would like to make me lonely
But I got my friends with me
We’re trying hard to help others find friends eternally (Huh ah ah…)
When I would worry about me
Uh… This world would bring me down (Mmmm, mmmm, mmm… Huh ah ah…)
I’m feeling better liftin’ others off the ground (Hmm, mmm…)
Look what I found

(Chorus 1)
I- I wanna know what I can do
I wanna give what I can give
That is the best feeling ever
I- I know this’ll last forever
I’m where I wanna be
This is the best life ever

So many good things yet to be done
With these two hands of mine
I’ll take some love and build us a bridge
Connect your heart to mine (Huh ah ah…)
When I would worry about me
Uh… This world would bring me down (Mmm, mmm… Huh huh huh huh huh huh…)
I’m feeling better liftin’ others off the ground (Mmm, mmm…)
Look what I found

(Chorus 2)
I- I wanna know what I can do
I wanna give what I can give
That is the best feeling ever
I- I know this’ll last forever
It’s better than a dream
This is the best life… (Hmmm…)

I’m not afraid come what may (Uh hu…)
This kind of life gets better every day, every day, every way
Oh, oh, oh, oh…
I- I wanna live for more than me
I wanna give till I feel free
That is the best feeling ever
I- I know this’ll last forever

Come with me you’ll see
This is the best life ever
This is the best life ever
This is the best life ever

We Wont Forget You Lyrics JW Broadcasting – November 2014

When the wind blows
When the rain comes
When the ground beneath you starts to slip away
God is always near
And he cares for you
You’re not alone
Your friends are here
We’ll help you find your way

We won’t forget you
We are your family
We won’t ignore you
We will not fail to see
We’ll take your hand
We’ll help you stand
We’ll help you carry on
We won’t forget you
We are your family.

When the storms gone
And the day breaks
When our love surrounds you like a warm embrace
When you come to know
That it’s really so
Love is a part
A perfect bond
That time will not erase.

We won’t forget you
We are your family
We won’t ignore you
We will not fail to see
We’ll take your hand
We’ll help you stand
We’ll help you carry on.
We won’t forget you,
We are your world-wide family,
We won’t forget you,
We are your family.

Never Give Up Lyrics JW Broadcasting – April 2015

Father for me the time has now come.
Fulfilling the words that were said by your son.
If they persecuted me then they’ll do it to you.
It’s not a surprise really nothing that’s new.

Jehovah I pray please let me be strong.
My life and devotion to you they belong.
My record of faith will never be lost.
I’ll be loyal to you no matter the cost.

I’ll never give in to taunts and to threats.
Enduring in faith I’ll have no regrets.
To suffer these things for the sake of your name.
I count as an honor I won’t be ashamed.

I won’t give up, won’t turn aside.
I won’t give up and I won’t run and hide.
Let me be strong, let me be true.
Carrying on, trusting in you.
I won’t give up.

You’ve trusted in me, I’ve trusted in you.
Each trial I face you help me get through.
No king and no ruler no family or friend.
Can make me lose sight of the path at the end.

I won’t give up, won’t turn aside.
I won’t give up and I won’t run and hide.
Let me be strong, let me be true.
Carrying on, trusting in you.

I won’t give up, won’t turn aside.
I won’t give up and I won’t run and hide.
Let me be strong, let me be true.
Carrying on, trusting in you.
I won’t give up.

Love All Sorts of People Lyrics Become Jehovah’s Friend – Original Songs

In this world we live in where prejudice and injustice is a common practice, we need to make a difference. As true Christians, we need to show love to different people and show them we really care. We preach to all and refrain from judging them according to how they look, where they’re from or how they speak.

Love All Sorts of People Lyrics
Become Jehovah’s Friend – Original Songs

In one way or another,
Each person that I see.
Is different in their own way,
Not everyone’s like me.

They come in different colors,
And some can’t run or walk.
Some speak another language,
or use their hands to talk.

But when I give a greeting,
I start to see how it can be.
I see them smile, we both feel happy,
Coz’ they’re a lot like me.

Jehovah loves all sorts of people.
He’s always good to you and me.
Let’s be like Him, and welcome others.
To join Jehovah’s family.

Honor Jehovah with Your Valuable Things Lyrics JW Broadcasting – May 2015

There’s nothing Jehovah could possibly need,
He made everything from the start.
So what can I give Him, more how can I live
In a way that brings joy to His heart?
Now I know what it takes so with each day that breaks,
Here’s what I will do:

I’ll give to you Jehovah the best I have to give.
I’ll live for you Jehovah as long as I may live.
No matter what life brings.
I’ll honor You with my valuable things.

With love in Your heart, You have given us life,
And I treasure the joy that it brings.
What more can I do to give honor to you,
Than to give you my valuable things.
Yes, I know what it takes so with each day that breaks,
I know what I will do.

I’ll give to you Jehovah the best I have to give.
I’ll live for you Jehovah as long as I may live.
No matter what life brings.
I’ll honor You with my valuable things.
